Reception Art Week - Andy Goldsworthy

This week we looked at the work of Andy Goldsworthy and learned about how he uses natural materials to create pictures and sculptures. We talked about Autumn and went on an Autumn walk to collect natural materials of our own such as leaves, pebbles and pine cones. We then used our found objects to create natural portraits.

We also learned all about hedgehogs and used natural materials – clay and sticks – to make our own little hedgehogs. It was great fun and we enjoyed using the clay and collecting our twigs! This week we have also enjoyed a range of Autumn crafts: silhouette leaf pictures, making our own Leaf Man, and leaf shaped suncatchers!
